Unfortunately, because of the pandemic we aren't able to host a 2020 VBS at our church building. But that doesn't mean we can't do anything for VBS! Welcome to "Fish Stories," our 2020 Alive! Lutheran Church VBS-at-Home!
To get started, you'll need a "Fish Stories" VBS-at-Home kit, which will contain the items you'll need for "Fish Stories" VBS-at-Home. Then, you can watch the following introduction video, "Welcome to Fish Stories VBS-at-Home."
Lesson 1 - Fishers of Men
In lesson 1, Pastor Lieske will walk you through Matthew 4:18-22, where we hear about Jesus calling four fishermen, Peter and Andrew, James and John, to follow Him. They would be "fishers of men," through whom Jesus would work to call the whole world. In this lesson, we learn "Jesus Calls Me!"
Memory Verse 1 - Luke 19:10
Our first memory verse for our Fish Stories VBS-at-Home is found in Luke chapter 19, where Jesus tells us, "The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."
Lesson 2 -
A Miraculous Catch of Fish
Memory Verse 2 -
Lesson 3 - Walking on Water
Memory Verse 3 - John 14:1
Lesson 4 -
The Risen Lord Appears
Memory Verse 4 -
In lesson 2, Pastor Lieske will walk you through Luke 5:1-11, where we hear about Jesus providing a miraculous catch of fish. In doing so, it becomes very clear that Jesus is not simply a mere man, but that He is God made flesh dwelling among us. In this lesson, we learn "Jesus Provides For Me!"
Our second memory verse for our Fish Stories VBS-at-Home is found in Matthew chapter 19, where Jesus tells us, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
In lesson 3, Pastor Lieske will walk you through Matthew 14:23-33. In this text, the disciples face a storm, Jesus walks upon water to meet them, Peter tries and fails to walk on water, Jesus saves Peter, and then He stills the storm. After we complete this lesson, we'll agree with the disciples, who say about Jesus, "Truly you are the Son of God." In this lesson, we learn "Jesus Saves Me!"
Our third memory verse for our Fish Stories VBS-at-Home is found in John chapter 14, where Jesus says, "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me."
