Head Usher - Alive! Lutheran is in need of a head usher. Please prayerfully consider this opportunity and speak with Scott Ludwig or Pastor Lieske if interested in being the head usher.

Board of Elders - Alive! Lutheran is in need of more elders. We currently have only two. Please prayerfully consider this opportunity and speak with Head Elder Scott Ludwig, Elder Ed Swingley or Pastor Lieske if interested in being an elder.

Technical Team (Audio/Visual/Computer) - Running the computer (PowerPoint, etc.) & sound system at church. We currently have one individual, Josh McDermott, fulfilling all these tasks when needed. We
would like to have at least 1 or 2 more people who can help out when needed. Any computer competent persons (teens or adults) are encouraged to respond! Please contact Josh McDermott or speak with Pastor Lieske if this is of interest to you.

Play an instrument? Like to sing? Share your talents during worship and/or at special times during the church year. Please let Lois Mitchell (763-295-2577) or Pastor Lieske know if you are interested in sharing your musical talents at Alive!

Electronic Giving (ACH) via LCEFs Joyful Response Program

Please consider signing up for Joyful Response, the electronic giving of offerings (ACH). Signing up is easy, and makes the giving process seamless for you and the church. For those who like to “drop” something in the collection plate each week, we have Joyful Response cards on the counter as you enter the narthex. Or use your offering envelopes with one of the cards in it. Simply write ACH on the outside. Joyful Response applications are available in the narthex on the information counter along with envelopes and labels for submitting the completed form, with a voided check enclosed, to the Treasurer. If you have concerns or questions, please contact one of the Co-Treasurers, Tom & Kara Gerold, or the Financial Co- Secretaries, Mary Johnson & Lisa Rowen.

Lenten Devotions from Lutheran Hour Ministries

Silent Witnesses

Did you ever wish that you could have been there at Jesus’ passion? Imagine what it would be like:

  • to hear the crowds shout “Hosanna!” as Jesus rode into Jerusalem
  • to smell and taste the feast at the Passover
  • to see Jesus carrying His cross to Golgotha
  • to touch the nail-wounds in Jesus’ hands when He rose from the dead

We cannot do that, but the men and women who were eyewitnesses of these events have left their testimony in the pages of the Gospels. John tells us, “These are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31). But there were silent witnesses, too—objects, animals and places that played a part during key moments of Jesus’ suffering, death and resurrection. We find them in the pages of the Gospels as well. Though they cannot speak, they can show us something of His love and mercy toward us.

Available to read online or as a podcast beginning February 14, 2018, Silent Witnesses can also be received as an e-mail subscription throughout the Lenten season. The audio version will be available on the daily devotion page beginning February 14, 2018.
