Alive Alive! News
  Welcome Pastor Lieske and family!

Alive! Lutheran has a new pastor! On October 9, Rev. Christopher Lieske was installed as our new pastor. It was a joyous celebration with 125 members and guests in attendance for the installation service and dinner. Pastor Lieske and his family are settling into our town, and Pastor started his first week at Alive! by attending the October elders and council meetings, as well as meeting with the confirmation students and their parents.
His first worship service is on Sunday, October 16th at 9am.

Downtown Trick or Treat - Thursday Oct. 27th 4-7pm

Alive! Lutheran Church will be participating again this year in the downtown trick or treat event. This is a great opportunity for us to showcase our church and introduce our new pastor
to the community! We will need several adults at the church by 3:45PM to unlock the doors, as well as help chaperone any youth volunteers. Alive! Lutheran’s young members, the confirmation class, and high schoolers are invited to assist with handing out candy, holding doors open and guiding the visitors through the church. And yes, volunteers are encouraged to wear costumes; however, we are a church, so please nothing inappropriate, goulish, scary, etc.! Please contact Connie Wischnack if you can help.

  Let's Go Caroling! Saturday, Dec. 3rd, 4-6pm

Let’s go Caroling, Alive!
Santa & Mrs. Claus will be visiting Alive! Lutheran Church on Saturday December 3rd from 4-6PM…
Let’s have some carolers around to welcome our guests!

Let’s assemble a group of carolers to stand outside the church and sing some old fashioned Christmas carols on Saturday December 3rd to welcome the Monticello residents and children who will be coming to see Santa & Mrs. Claus. When the Clauses depart for the North Pole, weather permitting, we can also do some caroling around the town. There will be a sign up posted in the narthex at the end of October for those interested in being part of a 5-15 person caroling group from Alive!. We will sing traditional, old fashioned Christmas carols most of us already know, and we’ll sing only the first stanza of each song. Men, women, teens and children are welcome to be part of the caroling group! For more information, please contact Chantelle Kiphuth ( or Connie Wischnack ( or the Pastor.

  • Encourage your congregation to “pass it on”
  • Share your gestures of kindness on the Bounce Back Project Facebook page
  • Consider hosting a Bounce Back Project educational presentation for your employees and/or customers to promote health through happiness

Alive Bible Study
Adult Bible Study on Sunday mornings

Sunday mornings’ Adult Bible study continues with the final sessions of “Called to Vote.” We are only a few short weeks from the November 8 General Elections when our nation will be voting for a new president. This study is not intended to lead you to a particular candidate or the sweep of any party platform. Rather, it provides congregations and pastors with a tool that is designed to spark a thoughtful biblical conversation about voting in a democracy. Specifically, it addresses ways in which the Lutheran confession of faith may be applied to political situations in which choices are made.

Monday Mornings at 10am - Small Group Adult Bible Study

The Monday morning group meets at 10AM for fellowship followed by the Bible study. They too are covering the “Called to Vote” Bible study. If you haven’t been able to attend the Sunday sessions at church, please join us at the Monday morning Bible study for some lively discussions and great fellowship! For more information or directions, please call Lois at 763-295-2577.

Hebrews 10:25, "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Adult Bible Classes are the perfect way to do this!

Or use your offering envelopes with one of the cards in it. Simply write ACH on the outside. Joyful Response applications are available in the narthex on the information counter along with envelopes and labels for submitting the completed form, with a voided check enclosed, to the Treasurer.
